A control panel can be installed in the cover of the fire alarm control unit and remotely. It is also possible to connect several control panels to a single control unit.

The front panel is universally multilingual. The language in which the panels operate can be changed on-the-fly by pressing the ‘Text – Texte – Tekst’ button. A slide-in window is used to provide the text in the correct language next to the LEDs.

The control panels communicate with the GMC+ control unit via the ArgNet. You can control the control unit completely using the control panels. Simple settings (such as delay periods) can be set via the control panel. To set more advanced settings, you have to use the ConfiGMC program.

The various authorisation levels (EN54-2):

  • Level 1: Everybody has access to four keys: alarm scroll, lamp test, buzzer quiet and language setting
  • Level 2: The other keys are accessible as soon as the special key is inserted in the control keyboard and turned to the correct position.
  • Level 3: Some functions under the F-key are only accessible after entering a code.
  • Level 4: Plugging in a laptop with the ConfiGMC program will activate Level 4. If the key of the control panel is removed and you plug in a special connector in its stead, you access the entire ArgNet. Then a laptop can be connected to the ArgNet via a special connector and an ArgNet <>USB interface. The ConfiGMC program can then run on this laptop so that you can set the entire control unit without opening the control unit or the control panels. Similarly, you can also retrieve the measurement data (e.g., the measurement values of the detectors, the current consumption in the loops or of the external users) and the maintenance warnings.
